Inside Mari Live Action Review

Image
Drama: Inside Mari Romaji: Boku wa Mari no Naka Japanese: ぼくは麻理のなか Director: Smith, Hatsuki Yokoo Writer: Shuzo Oshimi (manga) Actors: Elaiza Ikeda, Ryo Yoshizawa, Yurika Nakamura When I thought I've seen all the clever twist in any movie or drama, but boy was I wrong, this drama has one of the most original and well executed twists in any drama. The last time I had this goosebumps was in the movie Pink and Gray, that one also has one hell of a twist. This drama is based on a manga of the same name so I guess I shouldn't be surprised because seriously these mangakas are geniuses coming up with original and crazy plot. Isao komori is a college dropout who spends his days playing video games and watching porn. He is living a carefree life. Every day he go to this convenience store just to see Mari, she has this angel like feature that made Komori decide to make Mari his idol. He became obsessed and his sole pleasure in life is to stalk Mari. One mornin

Drama: Choosing Spouse By Lottery (English title) Romaji: Kekkon Aite wa Chusen de Japanese: 結婚相手は抽選で Actors : Shuhei Nomura, Rin Takanashi, Ryohei Otani, Aimi Satsukawa, Ayaka Onishi   Director: Junichi Ishikawa, Kaede Kamiya Writer: Miu Kakiya (novel), Erika Seki, Sumino Kawashima Network: Fuji TV, Tokai TV The plot reminds me of a lot of the movie Ikigami where they solve Japan's problem with absurd laws that no matter how you think of it, has no chance to exist in the real world. In Ikigami they try to solve Japan's high "suicide" rate by randomly selecting a citizen to die within 24 hours of notification because they believe this will remind all people how precious life is and will make them productive. In this drama due to nations "low birth and aging population", they implement a law where every single men and women from age of 25 to 39 to go on government planned blind dates. If you can't find a marriag

Drama : Yuube wa Otanoshimi Deshita ne Romaji: Yuube wa Otanoshimi Deshita ne Japanese: ゆうべはお楽しみでしたね Actors: Tsubasa Honda, Amane Okayama, Mamoru Miyano, Miwako Kakei, Ano Director: Kiyotaka Taguchi For a drama that was made to advertise a video game (Dragon quest) this is well made, nicely paced, cute romantic comedy between two individuals who share the same interest, playing dragon quest. Meet Takumi Satsuki, played by Amane Okayama, a typical loser type character, an introvert who doesn't have experience towards girls. He enjoys playing Dragon quest where he role-plays as a female character. One day he met a character named Goro-san in game, where he was saved by him from a boss monster. He eventually became friends with Goro-san, whom he respects a lot because he is nice and very reliable, so when Goro told him he is looking for a place to live, he immediately offers to share his place to him. Little did he know Goro-san is a woman, Mi

Drama: A Story to Read When You First Fall in Love (English title) Romaji: Hajimete Koi o Shita Hi ni Yomu Hanashi Japanese: 初めて恋をした日に読む話 Director: Ryosuke Fukuda Actors: Kyoko Fukada, Kento Nagayama, Ryusei Yokohama, Tomoya Nakamura, Katsuhisa Namase Writer: Aki Mochida (manga), Tomoko Yoshizawa Before Ayase Haruka, Satomi Ishihara, Yui Aragaki, Erika toda etc. it is Kyoko fukuda that was considered by many as the queen of Japanese Drama, so it's no surprise whatever drama she has done there's a high chance it will be a hit because of huge following she has. I also think she popularize the cute and clumsy type of characters so if not for her we wouldn't see those type of characters in Jdrama today. In this drama she played the role of Junko Harumi, who was once a model student, she has chosen not to have boyfriend in middle school and high school because that's what her parents want which lead for her having trouble finding a relat

Death Note: Light Up The New World Review

Movie: Death Note: Light Up The New World Romaji: Desu Noto Light up the NEW world Japanese: デスノート Light up the NEW world Actors: Masahiro Higashide, Sosuke Ikematsu, Masaki Suda, Erika Toda, Rina Kawaei, Mina Fujii, Kenichi Matsuyama, Tatsuya Fujiwara Director: Shinsuke Sato Writer: Tsugumi Ohba (manga), Katsunari Mano Death note has been considered as one of the best live action adaption ever, it has that legendary status that following its story is not a simple feat. It has been 10 years since the last one so the hype for it was unreal that in my opinion didn't help the movie. The way death note ended gives lot of questions to us viewers just what happen to the world after? Given that death note still exist. This film tries to answer that question as 6 death notes spread around the world; it also clarifies some rules and expands it more which only makes it more interesting for possible sequels in the future. Also, the film did a nice jo
